Yves Berger
Born in the Haute Savoie, France, thirty years ago, Yves Berger lives and works in the small Savoyard village where he grew up. This environment has considerably influenced his art.
Attended the Ecole Superieur des Beaux Arts de Genève , where he received the Prix Stravinsky for painting, on graduation in 2001. Recent personnal exhibitions at the Kunst im Alen Schutzenhaus, Zofingen, Switzerland; Galerie Hugo Godderis, Veurne, Belgium; as well as several exhibitions in France.
In 2006 he curated the exhibition “Le blaireau et le roi” [Carte Blanche à John Berger] at the Chartreuse de Mélan, Taninges, France, exposing, among others, the painters: Vicken Parsons, Werner Schmidt and the photographers: Daniel Michiels, Marc Trivier, Liberto Macarro.
His drawings have appeared in various magazines, including Art On Paper, New York; Brick, Toronto; Conjonctures, Montreal; Revue d'Etude Palestiniennes, Paris; Janus, Brussels ; La table des negociations, Lausanne.
As a writer (and illustrator), his works include: “L’Araignée jaune” with Alexandre Loye, Edition Art ?Fiction, Lausanne, 2006 and "Destinez-moi la Palestine" (poem), 2006.
