In 1963 Andre Kertesz was the subject of an important retrospective at the Venice Biennale. The exhibition was crucial in restablishing his status after a period of neglect. The exhibition then travelled to the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris.
The present mounted photograph is the special exhibition print that was made for the show and mounted to foam core.
It comes from the Estate of Andre Kertesz and does not appear to have been exhibited for over half a century.
