Important Photographs from Gustave Le Gray to Zanele Muholi
This exhibition presents one of the central themes of photography from its earliest days to the present and is divided into three sections: portraits of notable artists, the model as a subject, and forms of self-portraiture in which the artist or their bodies take centre stage.
The exhibition includes some of the most important photographers of the nineteenth and twentieth century among them Cecil Beaton, Bill Brandt, Henri Cartier- Bresson, John Coplans, John Deakin, Frantisek Drtikol, Rose Finn-Kelcey, Nigel Henderson, Colin Jones, Andre Kertesz, Jacques-Henri Lartigue, Gustave Le Gray, Zanele Muholi, Louis Remy-Robert, Grace Robertson, Jo Spence, Edward Steichen, Vallou de Villeneuve.
The exhibition is viewable at Photo London. We are located in the central marquee on Stand G01.
The selection includes some of the most famous artists including Matisse, Picasso, Giacometti, Bacon and Hockney; celebrated models such as Micaela Avogadro and Renée Perle; as well as images of the photographer as model with conceptual "self portraits" by Rose Finn-Kelcey, Zanele Muholi and Jo Spence.
